Sajith Promises Golden Age for Sri Lanka’s Gem and Jewellery Industry

COLOMBO (News 1st); Samagi Jana Balavegaya presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa has pledged to usher in a golden age for Sri Lanka's gems and jewellery industry under his leadership. Speaking at an event, Premadasa emphasized the formulation of new policies to achieve this vision.

Premadasa criticized the involvement of multinational companies in the industry through crony relationships and vowed to prevent such practices. He stressed the importance of adopting modern technology and assured that his team would not be influenced by money or privileges.

"We have been discussing the gems and jewelry policy for quite some time. We will definitely implement everything that we suggest. In the recent past, we have seen that various multinational companies have suddenly entered this field in various crony relationships and are trying to find a quick buck. At this time, I declare that we will not allow it at all, but we have to go with modern technology. I would like to tell all of you that Sajith Premadasa and Sajith Premadasa's team, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, the Samagi Jana Alliance, for any reason, we will not be sold to anyone for money, boons or privileges," asserted Premadasa.

He called on the people of Sri Lanka to give his party the mandate to implement these changes, promising incentives and facilities to support the industry's growth.
