Election Commission Receives Over 700 Complaints

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Election Commission has reported receiving a total of 771 complaints related to the ongoing Presidential Election. 

Among these, 747 complaints pertain to violations of election laws, while one complaint involves acts of violence.

In addition to the complaints received by the Election Commission, election observers have noted an increase in the misuse of state property in connection with the Presidential Election. 

Rohana Hettiarachchi, Executive Director of the People's Action for Free and Fair Elections (PAFFREL), stated that their organization has received 228 complaints related to the election.

Similarly, Manjula Gajanayake, Executive Director of the Institute for Democratic Reforms and Election Studies, reported that they have received 150 complaints concerning the Presidential Election.
