Election Campaigns continue, Candidates present Pledges and Policies

COLOMBO (News 1st); With only a few more days left for the presidential election, presidential candidates continue to make their pledges and outline their policies for the country. 

The 'Puluwan Sri Lanka' public rally organized as a part of independent presidential candidate Ranil Wickremesinghe's campaign was held at the Salgadu Grounds in Anuradhapura.

Speaking at the event President Ranil Wickremesinghe questioned as to where the other presidential candidates were when Sri Lanka was in dire straits. 

A rally in support of the presidential candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake from the National Peoples power was held in Matara yesterday. 

Addressing the gathering Anura Kumara DIssanayake assured the public that an NPP government will clense the political arena in the country. 


The Bandaragama rally of Sajith Premadasa, the presidential candidate for the Samagi Jana Balawegaya was held yesterday. 

Speaking at the rally presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa said that he is ready to take on the responsibility of rebuilding the nation. 


Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka kicked off his election campaign with a rally in Gampaha yesterday. 

He pledged to make Sri Lanka a law abiding and discplined nation.
