Anesthetic Shortage at National Hospital To Be Resolved

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Health says that the anesthetic drugs, previously held up at Colombo Harbour, are planned for distribution today.

In the interim, the Director of its medical supplies division, Deputy Director General, Dr. G. Wijesuriya has advised hospital directors to acquire anesthetics from private institutions to resume the surgeries that were cancelled due to the shortage.

This initiative was taken following a critical shortage of anesthetic drugs at the National Hospital, that had led to the cancellation of surgeries at the National Hospital.
