Vessel Carrying Mortal Remains of Fishermen Who Died While At Sea Experienced Technical Difficulties

COLOMBO (News 1st): The vessel carrying the remains of the four fishermen who died after drinking a liquid found in a bottle adrift at Sea, experienced technical difficulties.

Director General of Fisheries, Susantha Kahawatta said that this will further delay the arrival of the fishing trawler to the harbour.

Sri Lanka Navy dispatched the Vijayabahu vessel to retrieve the bodies of the deceased fishermen from the fishing trawler.

Navy Spokesperson Captain Gayan Wickramasuriya says that plans have been made to get first aid to the critically ill fishermen on board the vessel by the crew of a Singaporean ship passing through the area.
