COLOMBO (News 1st): A Sri Lankan woman was apprehended by Tribhuvan International Airport authorities in Kathmandu, Nepal, on Saturday night for attempting to smuggle over 1 kilogram of gold.
According to foreign media reports, the contraband, weighing a staggering 1.3 kilograms, was skillfully concealed on her person.
The Sri Lankan national was arrested for smuggling gold in powdered form concealed in her undergarments.
The chief of TIA security, DIG Arjun Chand, disclosed that the woman, arriving from Dubai, was arrested on Saturday night.
