Sri Lanka President meets German Chancellor during BGD2023

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe met with the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin on Thursday (28) for bilateral discussions.

President Wickremesinghe is in Germany to attend the ‘Berlin Global Dialogue’. 

The President also attended the Leaders Dialogue Session led by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on “Enhancing Cooperation in a Multipolar World”. 

The inaugural two-day international forum hosted business and policy leaders to discuss the transition to a new economic world order and find joint solutions for global economic issues.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe in his address on Thursday (28) stressed on the need for a comprehensive dialogue between Western nations and China, the United States of America and China and the European Union and China, as a critical component of a robust international plan capable of addressing the global challenges anticipated in 2024.
