Nathasha Edirisooriya and Bruno Divakara remanded till June 21

COLOMBO (News 1st); Comedian Nathasha Edirisooriya and Social Media Activist Bruno Divakara who were arrested, were remanded until the 21st of June.

Nathasha Edirisooriya was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on the 28th of May for allegedly making defamatory comments about Buddhism.

She was arrested based on a complaint made to the Inspector General of Police by the Commissioner General of Buddhist Affairs. 

Social media activist Bruno Divakara was arrested by the Cyber Crimes Division of the Criminal Investigation Department on the 31st of May.

He was arrested for sharing her content.
