SLTB to be privatized?

COLOMBO (News 1st); Minister of Transport and Highways Dr. Bandula Gunawardana said the Sri Lanka Transport Board will also have to be privatized if it does not make profits by 2024.

The Minister said the SLTB should be made into a profit-making institution, in order to avoid the risk of being privatized.

The Transport Minister said the SLTB plans to implement many digital projects in the coming year.

A special unit headed by the former Director of the Police Special Task Force in charge of the Western Province has been established to investigate fraud and corruption within the SLTB.
