Extraordinary gazette declares services of electricity, petroleum and health as essential

COLOMBO (News 1st) - An extraordinary gazette notification has been issued declaring a number of services as essential.

Accordingly, all services connected to the supply of electricity, the supply or distribution of petroleum products and fuel, and all service necessary or required to be done in connection with the maintenance, and the reception, care feeding, and treatment, of patients in hospitals, nursing homes, dispensaries and other similar institutions will be considered essential.

The gazette notification signed by the Secretary to the President highlighted that these services are essential to the life of the community and is likely to be impeded or interrupted.
