COLOMBO (News 1st) - The National Dengue Control Units is set to launch an islandwide Dengue Control Program.
Its Director Dr. Nalin Ariyaratne says that the three-day program will begin today.
He says that the Sri Lanka Police and the Tri-Forces will assist the program as well.
The Dengue Control Program is being implemented due to the prevailing showery conditions in the country.
52,021 Dengue cases have been reported in Sri Lanka so far this year.
Dr. Nalin Ariyaratne says that nearly 50% of the cases were reported from the Western Province.
