Colombo(News 1st): Veteran politician and former Cabinet Minister Gamini Lokuge has passed away at the age of 82.
He had been receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo for an illness and died this afternoon.
Mr. Lokuge began his political career in 1960 as a member of the United National Party (UNP). Over the years, he served in several key ministerial roles, including Tourism, Sports, and Transport, under multiple administrations.
