Comedian Nathasha Edirisooriya arrested by the CID at Bandaranaike International Airport

Colombo (News 1st) - Comedian Nathasha Edirisooriya was arrested by the CID at Bandaranaike International Airport on Saturday night while leaving the country, for allegedly making disrespectful remarks about Buddhism, police said.

Ms. Edirisooriya is a well-known standup comedian in Sri Lanka and often performs at various comic shows for high-end audiences in Colombo.

It was not immediately known when she would be produced before a magistrate.
