Delays in Eastern railway line after a train derails near the Mahawa Railway Station

COLOMBO (News 1st): A train that was transporting flour to Seeduwa had derailed this morning near the Mahawa Railway Station.

The Railway control room said this has caused delays in the eastern railway line.

Accordingly, the night mail train running from Colombo Fort to Trincomalee, Pulathisi intercity express train running from Batticaloa to Colombo Fort and mixed train running from Mahawa to Batticaloa was delayed
