Colombo ( News 1st ) - NASA announced on Tuesday that a newly discovered asteroid has a very low probability of impacting the Earth in 2046.
The asteroid, which is about the size of an Olympic swimming pool, could hit the Earth on Valentine's Day 2046.
According to NASA, the asteroid is expected to come closest to Earth at a distance of about 1.1 million miles. However, researchers are still gathering data, and the predictions may change.
The asteroid, named 2023 DW, has a 1 in 560 chance of hitting Earth, and it is the only space rock on NASA's risk list that has a Torino Impact Hazard Scale ranking of 1.
