COLOMBO (News 1st); The launch of the Divi Saviya program to deliver school books and stationery items to students from low-income earning families in the country.
The program is completely sponsored by LOLC Holdings, and is supported by the Education Ministry.
The launch of a program to deliver school books and stationery items to students from low-income earning families took place under the auspices of Kapila Jayawardane, the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of LOLC, and Education Secretary Nihal Ranasinghe.
School books and stationery items will be delivered from today to all schools with less than 100 students across the country.
The project is valued at approximately Rs. 1 Billion.
A symbolic donation of books to children also took place at the event.
