Colombo to Kandy Special Luxury Train from 1st October

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Minister of Transport Bandula Gunawardena says that a special luxury tourist train will be operating from Colombo Fort to Kandy every weekend from October 1, 2022.

The new tourist train will leave Colombo Fort at 6.30 am and is scheduled to reach Kandy at 9.18 am.

Also, the train leaves Kandy at 4.50 pm and arrives at Colombo Fort railway station at 7.40 pm.

This special train is designed to target the tourists who come to worship and pay reverence to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and visit Peradeniya Flower Garden.

A first-class ticket cost will be Rs.2000/- and a 2nd class ticket cost will be Rs.1500/-.

Additionally, the Minister said that a special luxury tourist train is expected to operate from Fort to Anuradhapura soon.
