Filling stations closed due to shortage

COLOMBO (News 1st); The All Ceylon Filling Station Owners' Association says that many filling stations have been closed due to the non-delivery of fuel.

The Chairman of the All Ceylon Filling Station Owners' Association Kumara Rajapaksa said that with the increase in fuel consumption, the queues near the filling stations have also increased.

The Secretary to the Sri Lanka Petroleum Private Tanker Owners' Association Shantha Silva said that there is currently a shortage of fuel reserves throughout the country.

However, this morning (27) the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) noted that 30,000 MT of Diesel was unloaded, and another 37,300 MT of Diesel to be uploaded, therefore there will be no-short supply of Diesel, and Petrol.
