COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Tourism Development Authority says that the arrival of tourists has increased.
The Director General of the Tourism Development Authority Dammika Wijesinghe said that over 17,000 tourists visit in the first two weeks of August.
She said that tourists from European countries including the UK, India, and Canada have visited the island.
The Tourism Development Authority also said that over 1,600 tourists are visiting the island daily.
Wijesinghe said that the number of daily tourist arrivals in May was 650.
In addition, she said that a special program is in place to attract tourists to Sri Lanka.
