Strict action against QR code fraud

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Energy says that strict action will be taken against those who use fake QR codes to obtain fuel.
The Ministry stated that several such incidents have been reported of some attempting to obtain fuel using fake QR codes.
The Ministry also mentioned that a special program is being implemented in collaboration with the Information Technology Agency (ICTA) to identify such QR codes.
According to the Minister of Energy, over 1,004 filling stations were recorded using the QR code system yesterday (03), and a total of 1,235 filling stations islandwide adopted the QR code system.
