Over 100 injured in July 9th Mass Protest

COLOMBO (News 1st); The number of people injured following the mass protest that took place on the 9th of July, increased to 103.

A Spokesperson for the Colombo National Hospital stated that 55 people are currently undergoing in-house treatment at the hospital, while one person is being treated in the intensive care unit.

11 injured have been identified as journalists, while six of them are from News 1st.

The News 1st journalists who were injured include Sarasi Peiris, U.D. Sindujan, Janitha Mendis, Chanuka Weerakoon, Kalimuththu Chandran, and Cameraman Waruna Sampath.
