News 1st journalist attacked by STF & Police

COLOMBO (News 1st); During a tense situation opposite Prime Minister's residence, the Sri Lanka Police Special Task Force attacked four News 1st journalists who were covering the ongoing protests.

The attack was carried out by Sri Lanka Police and the Police Special Task Force close to the private residence of Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Moments after the attack, fellow journalists rushed to the scene and they too were obstructed by security forced personnel.

The STF officer who ordered the attack was identified as SSP Romesh..
