COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe told Parliament that three Indian Government representatives will be in Sri Lanka on Thursday (23) to discuss future aid to the island-nation.
He said Sri Lanka has accessed USD 4 Billion via the Indian Credit Line, and has requested for more from India.
"India cannot do this forever, and they too have their limits," he told Parliament, adding that Sri Lanka must also have a way to pay back the loans.
He said the only safe option for Sri Lanka to over come the economic crisis is to engage with the International Monetary Fund.
"We have never spoken about Russian Crude, Ukraine-Russia war, with the IMF," he told the house.
The Prime Minister further said that a delegation from the US Treasury will also visit Sri Lanka on Monday (27) for discussions.
