Russian fuel: Independent MPs to meet Ambassador

COLOMBO (News 1st); Members of the Parliament who are representing independent parties have decided to meet with the Russian Ambassador to discuss obtaining fuel from Russia.

The Vice President of the Communist Party of Sri Lanka, Weerasumana Weerasinghe stated that Independent MPs, including Wimal Weerawansa, Udaya Gammanpila, Vasudeva Nanayakkara, Dr. G. Weerasinghe, Prof. Tissa Vitarana and other party leaders are scheduled to meet the Russian Ambassador in a few days.

The Minister of Energy, Kanchana Wijesekara previously stated that the Ambassador of Russia presented him with a list of four Russian companies to purchase fuel from for Sri Lanka.
