COLOMBO (News 1st).; Veteran Photo Journalist Sena Vidanagama passed away on Wednesday(8) at the age of 76.
The late Sena Vidanagama was most known for the iconic photograph dating to 30th July 1987 when a former Sri Lankan naval rating struck then-Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi with his rifle butt at a Guard of Honor.
Born in 1945 in Matara, the late Sena Viganagama's photographs were widely circulated locally and internationally, as all photographs had a story to say.
For many decades, he worked with Lake House and as a staff photographer for AFP.
The remains will be placed at his residence in Elpitiwala, Ragama and the funeral will take place at 6 PM on Thursday (9) at the Welisara Public Cemetary.
