COLOMBO (News 1st); A donation of anesthetic & respiratory medicines from the French Government was received by Sri Lanka on Thursday (26), and Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said that these medicines will be sufficient for a period of three months to address the existing shortage.
The French Government donated a stock of medicine worth €300 000 (around Rs. 115 million) following the request of the Sri Lankan Government.
The ambassador Eric Lavertu met the Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella and discussed the the current medical crisis in Sri Lanka.
The ambassador made a symbolic donation of the 300,000 Euros worth of medicines to the Minister.
"This donation will help to maintain a continuous 9-0day operation in all emergency operating theatres in Sri Lanka" said the Minister.
