COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga was sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday (12) for Indian Rs. 10.75 crores after a closely fought bidding war.
The Sri Lankan pair of Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera, joined RCB for the second part of IPL 2021.
Hasaranga took a hat-trick at last year's T20 World Cup. He was also the highest wicket-taker with 16 victims in eight matches at 5.20.
Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings and RCB were the teams that went for it as they looked to secure the spinner’s services, with his value going through the roof after the base bid was set at 1 crore INR.
