Sri Lanka impose travel restrictions on six African countries

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Civil Aviation Authority says that Sri Lanka has imposed travel restrictions on people arriving from six countries over concerns regarding the newly discovered South African 'OMICRON' variant of COVID-19. Speaking to News 1st, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority Upul Dharmadasa said travelers arriving  from South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Swaziland will not be permitted to disembark in Sri Lanka with effect from 12:00 midnight today (27). Moreover, travelers aged 12-years and above who are arriving in Sri Lanka on the 26th and 27th November from above mentioned countries shall undergo an on-arrival PCR testing.
