COLOMBO (News 1st); The Chairman of the National Movement for the Protection of Consumer Rights, Ranjith Vithanage alleges there is a gas shortage in the country.
Vithanage stated that a shortage of Laugfs gas is reported across the country, and in some parts, there is also a shortage of Litro gas as well.
Alleging that Laugfs gas is planning to increase the price of gas gradually to Rs. 4,000, Vithanage stated that the consumers in the country are in need of gas.
Responding to Minister Chamal Rajapakse's statement regarding the people, and how they should be eating manioc, potatoes and greengram instead of rice, Vithanage said that people still need gas to cook, and urged the government to not to pave way for a gas shortage in the country.
