Inter-Province Travel Restrictions Extended to 21st October

COLOMBO (News 1st); The COVID-19 Prevention Committee has decided to extend the existing inter-provincial travel restrictions to the 21st of October 2021.

The COVID-19 Prevention Committee chaired by the President had also decided to commence the vaccination of all those in the ages of 18 & 19 with the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at their respective schools from the 21st of October 2021 and for school leavers in that age group to obtain the vaccine from their local MOH.

The President's Media Division said that the President had emphasized that the vaccination rollout should take place at the schools under the supervision of a doctor.

Further, the President had stressed the need for those between the ages of 20 - 30 to be vaccinated without delay.

In addition, the PMD reported that over 10,000 children with comorbidities have been vaccinated.
