Three arrested for attempted cultivation on archeological site

COLOMBO (News 1st): Three suspects were arrested while preparing land for cultivation at an archeological site in the Kumbalantenna area in Valachchenai yesterday (25).

Police said the suspects were clearing the area and preparing the ground for cultivation with the use of a tractor.

The suspects, aged 58, 63 and 65, have been identified as residents of Ottamawadi.

Police also seized a tractor used by the suspects to prepare the ground.
