Met Dept. issues Advisory for Severe Lightening

COLOMBO (News 1st); The showery condition over the south-western part of the island is likely to enhance during the next few days, said the Met Department.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Central provinces and in Galle and Matara districts. Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm can be expected at some places in these areas.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Northern, Eastern, and Uva provinces in the evening or night.

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
