COLOMBO (News 1st): Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella says that 50% of the country's population has been fully vaccinated.
The Minister of Health says that this is a big step forward and that we can humbly rejoice as a country that is at the forefront of the COVID-19 vaccination program in the world.
He emphasized that being fully vaccinated is a key factor in reducing mortality.
The Minister also said that Sri Lanka can go forward as a country if the citizens continue to abide by health regulations.
Minister Rambukwella said that the vaccination of all persons above the age of 20 years is still in progress and that the vaccination of people between the ages of 18 and 20 will commence soon.
