COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka secured a 2 - 1 series win after defeating South Africa by 78 runs in the 03rd ODI on Tuesday (7).
Earlier Sri Lanka posted 203/9 with Charith Asalanka starring with a brilliant knock of 47 off 71 balls.
Proteas Skipper Keshav Maharaj did the damage for South Africa bagging 3/38.
However, the highlight of the game was debutant Maheesh Theekshana who was Sri Lanka's first ever international cricketer to be born in the 21st century.
Theekshana got off to a dream start when he picked up his maiden wicket with his first ball in international cricket.
Maheesh Theekshana ended with 04 for 37 on debut, leading Sri Lanka to the win as South Africa crumbled for 125 runs.
