Foreign vessel seized with large haul of heroin in International Waters

COLOMBO (News 1st); A joint operation by the Sri Lanka Navy and the Sri Lanka Police led to the seizure of a foreign vessel carrying a large haul of heroin, in international waters, South of Sri Lanka.

Navy Spokesperson Captain Indika De Silva said 07 suspects were arrested.

The vessel and the suspects are being brought to Colombo, he added, noting that the Police Narcotic Bureau will take over the investigations.
