COLOMBO (News 1st); Kandurupitiya is a remote village in the Anuradhapura District, in North Central Sri Lanka.
This village is home to 108 families who, for years have been depending on water sources located several kilometers away to survive.
With no fixed means of income, these people's lives are based on agriculture, collecting rainwater for their cultivations.
What is even more disturbing is that around 40 villagers are kidney patients.
Gammadda stepped forward to end the pipe dream of access of to clean drinking water.
The project was funded by the 95/96 Electrical Engineering Batch of the University of Moratuwa.
