COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lanka Air Force handed over two (02) Heated Humidified Oxygen Therapy Units to health authorities at Air Force Headquarters on Wednesday (04).
The handing over was done by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana.
Director of Health Services in the Central Province, Dr. Nihal Weerasuriya accepted the vital equipment on behalf of health authorities.
The Heated Humidified Oxygen Therapy Units were manufactured by the General Engineering Wing at Katunayake together with the electronical design which was done by the Electronics and Telecommunications Wing at Ratmalana.
According to Dr. Weerasuriya, these units will be deployed at Theldeniya Base Hospital and the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital where they will be used to treat patients with COVID-19.
