Rs. 5000/- allowance to be re-issued to three separate groups

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lankan government has decided to re-issue the Rs. 5000/- allowance to people who fall under three separate categories, during the period of the travel restrictions.

State Minister Shehan Semasinghe said the people who receive a government allowance of less than Rs.5000/- will receive the allowance of Rs. 5000/- with effect from June 02nd.

In addition, low-income earners, as well as those who qualify to receive government allowances, will be entitled to receive the Rs. 5000/- allowance.

In addition, people who lost their means of income will also be entitled to receive Rs. 5000/- allowance.
