COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police is to introduce mouth swab drug tests and urine drug tests to detect people driving under the influence of drugs.
A pilot project using these test kits will be implemented in the Western Province from Monday (17), said Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana adding if the tests return positive for controlled substance use, the driver will be directed to the Judicial Medical Officer.
These kits will be used to detect heroin, marijuana, and synthetic drugs.
