April Attacks carried out by those who wanted to strengthen their political power - Cardinal

Colombo (News 1st); The 2019 April 21st Attacks was carried out by those wanted who wanted to tighten their grip political power, and not by religious extremists, said His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, the Archbishop of Colombo on Sunday (18).

"Religious extremism was used by this group of people who wanted strengthen their political power," said His Eminence. "We view this tragic incident as a culmination of a particular group of people trying to ensure their power. Therefore, we request the people of this country not to resort to violence in the name of religion, language or race," said His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith.
