Anti-narcotic operations conducted island-wide

COLOMBO(News1st): Police are conducting islandwide anti-narcotic operations in a bid to curb the drug menace in the country. The Police Narcotic Bureau arrested a suspect with 101 grams of Heroine and 113 grams of synthetic narcotic known as ICE in Wattala yesterday, said Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana The Police also seized over Rs .1 Million from the suspect's possession suspected to have earned through drug trafficking. Operations are being conducted by the Police to apprehend those who engaged in drug trafficking during the festive season, said DIG Ajith Rohana. The Deputy Police Chief added that a special operation was also launched yesterday to arrest those drive under the influence.
