Pannipitiya Tragedy: 02 dead in car & motorcycle collision

Colombo (News 1st); Two young men in their late twenties died in an accident involving a car and a motorcycle at the Polwatte Junction on the Pannipitiya - Battaramulla Road on Friday (02).

Sri Lanka Police said a motorcycle traveling towards Borella crashed into a car that was turning to the Polwatte Road while heading towards Pannipitiya. The motorcycle had then crashed onto an electricity pole as well, said Sri Lanka Police adding the motorcyclist and the pillion rider were ruled dead upon admission to the Kalubowila Hospital. The deceased were aged 25 & 27 years and were residents from Meegoda and Yatiyantota. The driver of the car was arrested over the accident and he was released on a personal bail of Rs. 500,000/- by the Nugegoda Magistrate's Court.
