Rehab for detainees not related to April 21st Attacks

Colombo (News 1st); Individuals with no direct link to the 2019 April Attacks will be rehabilitated.

Commissioner General of Rehabilitation Major General Darshana Hettiarachchi said the government had decided to produce such individuals to court and thereafter move them for rehab. This move will be based on the recommendations made by the Terrorist Investigations Division, Criminal Investigations Department, and the State Intelligence Service, he added. The Commissioner-General of Prisons further said no decision was reached with respect to the number of people who would be directed to rehabilitation.
