Colombo (News 1st); The Sihala Ravaya movement claimed a natural waterway was blocked using rocks to create a pool at the construction site in Sinharaja.
When a group led by Venerable Akmeemana Dayarathana Thero attempted to enter the premises they were obstructed by a security officer.

"The people living in low areas close to this site lament they do not have sufficient water and the reason for that is blocking the waterway that runs across this land," said the Venerable Thero.
The Venerable Thero said he is one of the 6.9 million people who supported the government, however, he is disappointed over its conduct.
Forest Conservation Minister C. B. Ratnayake had called for a report on the matter from the Director-General of the Forest Department Sri Lanka.
Secretary to the Ministry Somaratne Vidanapathirana speaking to News 1st said necessary measures will be taken after the report is received.
