Fire at Ravana Ella forest reserve still continuing

COLOMBO (News 1st): The fire that erupted at the Demodara mountain in the Ravana Ella forest reserve in Bandarawela at around 7:00 pm on Friday evening (Mar. 05) is still continuing, News 1st's correspondent in the area reported on Saturday morning (Mar. 06). According to News 1st's correspondent, as of Saturday morning (06), an area of close to 200 acres has been destroyed as a result of the fire. Wildlife Officials, Sri Lanka Police, and Sri Lanka Army are engaged in the efforts to douse the fire. Moreover, Sri Lanka Air Force is also set to join the efforts to contain the blaze in a few hours' time, reported News 1st correspondent.
