COLOMBO (News1st): Several remarks have been expressed on the report of the presidential commission on the 2019 April 21st attacks. "The report has not highlighted information on the activities carried out by the National Thowheed Jamath group and its members' relationship with intelligence officers," opposition lawmaker Patali Champika Ranawaka said. 'The New Wings' Movement also raised concerns over the absence of several crucial details in the report. "Although Pulasthini Rajendran was believed to be linked to the attacks, the report does not make recommendations on her," Chathura Dissanayake, a member of the movement noted. He pointed out that US intelligence officers had retrieved data from the laptop of Zahran Hashim although local units had been unable to do so. "..a case has been filed in the US based on this data," he noted. Harin Fernando, an opposition lawmaker, insisted that all volumes of the report must be made public. "They have only given us one volume. I personally disagree with this. That is because rumours and misinformation continue to surround us," Fernando observed. He pointed out that the individuals who had backed the attacks have not been identified although the report has clearly outlined the officials who had neglected their duties.
