COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Customs has intercepted a parcel containing Rs. 60 million worth of cocaine and kush, smuggled into the country through international courier services.
According to Customs Spokesperson and Additional Director General, Seevali Arukgoda, the narcotics were shipped from the United States, Canada, and Malaysia using express courier channels.
The Customs Narcotics Control Unit inspected a suspicious batch of parcels and discovered 1.101 kilograms of cocaine and 1.666 kilograms of kush hidden inside.
Authorities have yet to identify the individuals or groups responsible for the parcels, and investigations are ongoing.
