CA further extends order on Ranjan's parliamentary seat

Colombo (News 1st); The Court of Appeal further extended to the 16th of March, the order made to the Secretary-General of Parliament not to take any action regarding the parliamentary seat of Ranjan Ramanayake.

On Thursday (11), the writ application filed by Ranjan Ramanayake was taken up in the presence of the President of the Court of Appeal Justice Arjuna Obeysekera and Justice Mayadunne Corea. The writ application will be taken up again on the 16th of March. On the 12th of January, the Supreme Court found Ranjan Ramanayake guilty of contempt of court and sentenced him to 04 years in rigorous imprisonment.
