COLOMBO (News 1st): Certain .LK domains were affected by a malicious redirection, the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) tweeted on Saturday morning (06).
"With certain .lk domains currently affected by a malicious redirection, the LK Domain Registry is in the process of resolving the issue with TRC and CERT assisting," read the TRCSL tweet posted at 10:19 am on Saturday (Feb. 06).
Any issue could be reported to NIC.LK via the hotline, 011 421 6061, the tweet further read.
Meanwhile, according to the LK Domain Registry, the issue with the .LK Domain Registration System, which arose early on Saturday morning (Feb. 06) has been resolved.
"The issue with the .LK Domain Registration System, which arose early on Saturday morning (Feb. 06) was attended to expeditiously and the matter was resolved by approximately 8:30 am," the LK Domain Registry said in a statement issued later on Saturday morning (06).
Domain Registrar - Prof. Gihan Dias noted: "The .LK DNC system is now functioning normally. However, some names may be catched in systems outside the registry, and may appear until the cache expires."
The .LK Domain Registry is currently investigating the malicious redirection on .LK domains, the press release further said.
