COLOMBO (News 1st): A special flight with 293 Sri Lankan expatriates who faced various forms of harassment while employed in Qatar, arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport on Saturday (Jan. 30), airport officials said.
The group of Sri Lankan migrant workers were referred for quarantine, the Duty Manager at the Katunayake Airport told News 1st on Saturday (Jan. 30).
A total of 681 passengers arrived in 20 aircraft that landed at the Bandaranaike International Airport in a 24-hour window that ended at 8:30 am on Saturday morning (30).
The group of returning passengers include 83 from the United Arab Emirates, 77 from Dubai, 39 from Pakistan and 34 from Bangladesh among others.
